Vee Kachroo

Chief Executive Officer

Vee Kachroo was appointed CEO of Amports in August 2023, bringing over 35 years of senior executive experience. Prior to joining Amports he spent nearly three decades at CN Rail, where he held key roles, including Vice President of Industrial Products and President of Supply Chain Solutions. At Amports, Vee's leadership is focused on optimizing supply chains by leveraging various modes of transportation, enhancing customer-centric services and driving innovation in both process improvement and product development. Beyond his work at Amports, Vee shares his expertise through global board memberships, mentorships and entrepreneurial ventures, nurturing the next generation of business leaders. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.

Jacob S. Brown

Chief Financial Officer

Jake Brown joined Amports in June 2016 and lives in Jacksonville FL near company headquarters. Before joining Amports Jake spent 13 years with PWC’s assurance practice, where he focused on private companies and acted as Sr Manager on the Amports audit for six years. As CFO of Amports Jake is responsible for all aspects of finance in the US and Mexico and also oversees the engineering team. He plays a pivotal role in driving Amports growth and maximizing shareholder value. Jake is committed to fostering a culture of financial integrity, strategic planning and corporate accountability. He emphasizes the importance of collaboration across teams so that financial objectives are aligned with the company’s strategic initiatives. Jake is a licensed CPA in the state of Florida and has a Masters in Accounting from the University of Florida.

Mark Boucher

Chief Commercial Officer

Mark Boucher is a seasoned executive with a strong background in management, logistics and commercial operations. Mark began his career in banking, insurance and railroads before moving into leadership roles at Volkswagen Group of America, where he gained 13 years of valuable experience. Mark joined Amports in July 2021 as Chief Logistics Officer and was promoted to Chief Commercial Officer in August 2023. In his current role he oversees a team of sales representatives, manages key OEM relationships and leads contract negotiations. Mark is also focused on driving brand awareness and identifying opportunities for business growth. He plays a critical role in the company's commercial success. Mark holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from James Madison University and an MBA from College of William & Mary.

Jonathan Trope

Chief Technology & Security Officer

Jonathan Trope joined AMPORTS in November 2024 as Chief Technology & Security Officer (CTSO). With 18 years of experience in IT systems management, cybersecurity, and driving innovative business solutions, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership in technology development, IT operations, and information security. Jonathan holds a Master of Commerce in Information Systems and certifications in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and Information Security Management (CISM). He envisions AMPORTS embracing new technologies to stay ahead of competitors, ensuring efficient, secure operations, and remaining the partner of choice for customers.

Batina T. Smith

VP Human Resources

Batina T. Smith joined Amports in February 2019. As Vice President of Human Resources, she brings a diverse experience from family-owned businesses, privately-held companies, and Fortune 500 corporations. She leads HR strategies to support business goals, focusing on talent acquisition, retention, employee engagement, and compliance, while fostering an inclusive workplace. Batina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in HR Management and multiple HR certifications, equipping her to drive strategic HR initiatives effectively.

Randy Scott

Managing Director, West Operations

Randy Scott is a committed vehicle logistics professional with extensive experience in port operations, import/export logistics and vehicle processing. Randy has been helping to grow Amports for over four decades. He began this journey in 1981 in an entry-level position and steadily grew into a key senior leadership role. His deep knowledge of the industry and commitment to operational excellence have been instrumental in shaping Amports' success. Randy holds a Bachelor degree in Business Information Systems and continues to be pivotal in optimizing the company’s vehicle logistics operations.

Ernesto Ibarra

Managing Director, Mexico

Since 2007 Ernesto has been applying his deep experience in supply chain management to his role as Managing Director, Mexico. Ernesto oversees all facets of the Mexico business, including finance, operations, commercial strategy, planning, legal, HR and IT. His leadership is distinguished by clear communication and effective collaboration with every stakeholder, including clients, government bodies, transport companies, service providers and Amports corporate HQ. Prior to Amports Ernesto spent 24 years at Chrysler in various supply chain roles, including a three-year assignment at Detroit HQ, as well as concluding as Mexico Logistics Director. Ernesto has helped our continuous growth by seizing opportunities in Mexico's automotive market, introducting over 20 Chinese brands and increasing exports by US OEMs and manufacturing plants. He sustains this progress by motivating his team to fulfill corporate and local objectives. Despite the market’s increasing competition and price pressure Ernesto is optimistic and believes that navigating economic, political and trade dynamics will lead to Amports' ongoing success.
