Amports Achieves Green Marine Certification at Jacksonville Terminal

Blount Island Becomes the First Amports Location Certified Under North America’s Leading Marine Environmental Program

Jacksonville, Fla. – June 2026 – AMPORTS is proud to announce that its Blount Island terminal in Jacksonville, Florida, has achieved Green Marine certification, marking an important milestone in the company’s environmental stewardship journey.

Green Marine is a voluntary environmental certification program for the North American marine industry that helps participants benchmark and continuously improve their environmental performance through rigorous annual assessments and independent verification.

AMPORTS joined Green Marine as a member in 2025 and completed the certification process this year at its Jacksonville operation. The achievement reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to conducting business responsibly, protecting the environment, and pursuing continuous improvement across its operations.

“This is just the first chapter in our Green Marine journey. Our vision is that as we standardize more and more processes across our operations, we also standardize how we operate more responsibly and respectfully toward the environment and the communities surrounding our business.”

Mike Civiletti, Senior Corporate Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager at Amports

The company plans to certify its three Baltimore terminals – Atlantic, Chesapeake and Dundalk -as well as its Freeport terminal in 2027, with the goal of achieving Green Marine certification across all AMPORTS locations by 2033-2035.

“We are learning so much throughout this process. The certification process is very educational, and the Green Marine team is extremely supportive. The verifier goes item by item with our team, providing tips and ideas on the next steps we can take to continue making improvements.”

Russell Ingram, Site Safety Supervisor at Amports Blount Island

AMPORTS’ Environmental Policy guides the company’s approach to environmental responsibility, emphasizing regulatory compliance, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and continual improvement. Green Marine provides a structured framework that aligns with these principles and helps the company further strengthen its environmental performance.

The Green Marine certificates were presented during GreenTech 2026 in Quebec City, Canada, on June 11. AMPORTS’ Green Marine performance report is available at: https://green-marine.org/certification/results/.

As AMPORTS continues to grow, environmental responsibility remains a core value. The company views Green Marine certification not as a destination, but as a roadmap for continuous improvement and a meaningful way to strengthen its positive impact on customers, employees, communities and the environment.
