We’ve Officially Launched Our New Stevedore Operation in Baltimore

A Major Step Forward in Expanding Our East Coast Capabilities

June 3, 2025 – Baltimore, MD – We’re excited to announce the official launch of our new stevedore operation at the Atlantic and Chesapeake Terminals in Baltimore, Maryland. Operated through our subsidiary, Red Hook Terminals Maryland, LLC d/b/a Baltimore Port Terminal (BPT), this strategic expansion significantly strengthens our presence on the East Coast and supports our long-term vision of delivering seamless, end-to-end supply chain solutions for our customers.

We kicked off operations by handling two vessels on Day 1—Grimaldi’s Grande Luanda and Hoegh’s Hoegh London—and successfully unloaded over 3,000 vehicles. Our stevedore crew worked closely with labor partners to ensure a safe and efficient launch.

“This new operation is a major milestone in our integrated service model. Our customers benefit from having a single point of contact from vessel discharge to haulaway handoff. It’s all about delivering consistent, high-quality service.”

Mark Boucher, Chief Commercial Officer

Our Baltimore operation builds on the momentum we created in Benicia, California, where we assumed all stevedoring activities at our terminal in November 2024. Just five months later, our Benicia team celebrated the successful unloading of its 100th roll-on, roll-off vessel—NYK’s Sakura Leader. That rapid progress is a testament to the strength and flexibility of our teams, and we’re bringing those same lessons and best practices to Baltimore to elevate safety, performance, and customer satisfaction.

We’re proud to have John Coleman leading our Baltimore stevedore team. With more than 30 years of experience in port operations and a deep commitment to efficiency and safety, John is guiding this expansion with focus and energy.

Earlier this year, in January 2025, we further enhanced our East Coast capabilities by acquiring Red Hook Terminals Maryland, LLC. This move not only expanded our terminal network but also allowed us to become proud members of the Steamship Trade Association of Baltimore. We believe strong partnerships and labor collaboration are essential to supporting maritime trade in a safe and efficient environment, and this membership aligns perfectly with those values.

As we continue to grow, we remain focused on our mission: to be a reliable supply chain enabler delivering outstanding service, innovative solutions, and long-term value to our customers. Baltimore is just the beginning of our next chapter—and we’re excited about what’s to come.

“Higher vitality is linked to a more motivated, connected, and productive workforce. Employers that foster vitality will fuel a healthier workplace and drive business and economic growth. We’re proud to recognize Amports for prioritizing multiple dimensions of wellness and fostering a culture of health and engagement.”

Kari Knight Stevens, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at The Cigna Group.
